Prayer Items May 2010

We are in the process of organizing an orientation weekend (25-27 June) for people who are interested in translating the Bible into Dutch Sign Language and will consider participating in the translation team.  For more information about the weekend, see the information page.

  • Would you please pray with us that God will bring skilled signers who are potential future translators to the weekend orientation?
  • Would you also pray for strength and health for the organizers so that they can prepare well for the weekend?
  • We can thank God that we were able to find a great location!

We area also looking for people who would be willing to take time during the weekend to support us in prayer. We are planning on sending prayer e-mails out on the 25th, 26th and 27th of June to those who have agreed to pray for/during the weekend. If you are willing to pray for us during this weekend, send us an e-mail so that we can put your name on that list.

For your information we are also including in this mail a profile sketch for the Prayer work group that we would like to set up within the project structure. Prayer is an important and essential part of this project. By praying you are part of what God will do with and through the project.

Prayer Work Group:

The translation of (a part of) the Bible is an ambitious project. When we are involved with God’s Word, we will encounter resistance. In addition, the project is so incredibly big that it is humanly impossible to accomplish it. It is only through prayer that we will be able to keep focused on the direction in which the Holy Spirit leads and keep our eyes firmly on the vision that we have laid out. God’s wisdom and protection are necessary in all facets of the project. The entire responsibility for the project lies with God, not people. The Prayer Work Group stimulates and motivates people to pray for the project….both project workers and the ultimate users of the product. The contact person in the Project Team keeps this work group informed of the things going on in the project so that focused prayer is possible. The Prayer Coordinator keeps the Project Team informed of what is going on within the Prayer Work Group.
