Prayer Items February 2009
From 27 February to 3 March Wycliffe is holding a conference in England. There will be opportunities for interaction and training in Bible translation into European Sign Languages.
Prayer requests
- There will be conference attendees from Spain, England, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Denmark and the Netherlands. Thank God that He has called these people!
- Pray for the communication between people speaking all these various languages. Pray that we will be able to understand each other well.
- Pray that we can see what is cultural and what is pure Biblical truth (some ways of approaching translations are chosen because of the culture of a particular country)
- Pray for encouragment and that the training will be comprehended
- Pray that the leadership of the conference will remain healthy and that God will speak through them
- Pray for good weather for flying (this week there was emergency weather in England with 12 cm of snow)
Thanksgiving
- Thank God that there is a special coordinator for Sign Language translations in Europe, that there are others who also have a vision for Bibles in sign languages and that it has long been a matter of prayer!
- Thank God that we will be seeing people from other countries who are involved with the same type of projects.
- I continue to watch with amazement at how God is at work. It is incredible that various people were praying independently from each other about a Bible in Sign Language....the way in which the first gathering came together was amazing. It is so amazing to see God at work!
- Thank God for the enthousiam of people who want to be a part of the work group.
